Caring for Sterling SilverSterling silver naturally oxidizes over time, causing it to darken or tarnish. This is completely normal! How quickly oxidation develops can vary depending on body chemistry, perspiration, humidity, and environmental exposure.A few simple ways to keep your silver looking beautiful:- Store it properly. When you're not wearing your jewelry, keep it in an airtight container or the resealable plastic bag provided with your Carmon Designs Jewelry purchase.
- Keep it polished. A jewelry polishing cloth is a great way to remove light oxidation and restore your silver's shine.
- For deeper cleaning. Connoisseurs offers a sterling silver cleaning solution that can quickly remove tarnish. Always follow the product instructions and make sure the cleaner is safe for your particular piece.Important: Some Carmon Designs Jewelry pieces feature an intentionally oxidized finish to highlight textures and details. Do not use silver cleaning dips on these pieces, as they can remove the darkened finish. Silver dips may also damage certain gemstones and other materials.

General Jewelry CareEven the finest jewelry experiences wear over time. A few simple habits can help protect your favorite pieces.- Keep your jewelry clean. Soap, lotions, body oils, and dirt can accumulate around gemstones, settings, and moving parts. Trapped grit can act as an abrasive, contributing to wear as metal surfaces rub together.
- Avoid water and chemicals. Remove jewelry before swimming in pools or the ocean, soaking in hot tubs, showering, or using household cleaning products. Chlorine and other chemicals can damage or discolor certain metals and gemstones.
